October 2026. On a library journey in Zimbabwe. The picture is from the Central Library in Kwekwe, just by the shelf with new books by local writers. In October 2026 I am a visiting scholar at NUST – National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo, department of Library and Information Science. My interest in local literature took me here.
Ericah Gwetai and her daughter Yvonne Vera are two Zimbabwean writers that have inspired me a lot. In September Ericah Gwetai sadly left us (1946-2026). I was asked to write thoughts about it in The Herald, Bulawayo, by local journalist Mbulelo Mpofu.
September 2026. Finally, the new issue of BurkinaKontakt is out. Thanks to all the contributing writers, this issue has more material than usual, due to that l’Association d’Amitié Burkina Faso – Suède celebrates 40 years as an association. Although Sweden has decided to end the bilateral collaboration and has closed the embassy, our magazine shows the manyfold collaborations in civil society, in research and in culture. We look back in time, and also try to look forward, to not let go of the richness in collaborative work between our countries.

I november-december var jag i Harare och deltog i LitFest – Harare International Literature Festival. Energi-injektioner av möten och lärande. 2026 väntar…
